Well made and working

I had a whole house water filter that I didn't remove when the weather was cold. I broke the supplied plastic key. My little strap wrench didn't work. I broke the "heavy" strap wrench with the metal handle, but the filter still didn't move. However, this little kid did his job. Half inch ratchet, short extension, long tube and success!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Little things

This tool PERFECTLY coped with the loss of the water filter cartridge

This tool handled the loss of a water filter cartridge PERFECTLY. I am sure that without this tool, the work would be much more difficult and tedious. I bought this tool instead of a regular plastic tool as I read a lot of reviews about them bending and breaking. I read about this tool in another review and I'm glad I did!

Did the job Oil filter wrench

Well made, good materials, arrived as promised. After breaking the plastic key for my whole house particulate filter, it allowed me to remove the stuck filter housing. I've been doing this for many years with the same old plastic key. Then he made the mistake of forgetting to change the filter for over a year. (Bad!) I think the filter expanded so much inside the case that it "blocked" it. I tried everything I could think of but it worked! I found it with a YouTube search.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Older model

This tool is tight!

The fork is well designed and chrome plated for rust resistance and easy cleaning. It also weighs significantly more than expected! The connection between the adapter and wrench can be very tight or loose depending on the brand of your tool. I find it looser with my craftsman and tighter with the MAC button. So far I've only used it for water softener canisters and water filters. I was amazed that it even worked with a handset as small as a Benelli M4 receiver. To give you an idea, the pipe…

  • Good product for the price

Big Blue Filter conquers

Highly recommended. I have a large 10 inch blue house filter and two small reverse osmosis water filters that I absolutely couldn't pull off. I've tried everything I can think of to figure these things out. I rightly thought I was going to rip my pipes off the wall instead of a filter until I found this. Take a 1/2 inch ratchet rod, wrap it nice and tight around the filter and just apply even pressure. There was a light breeze. Don't waste your time on anything else. Just understand it and end…

Easy to change stuck house water filter

For the first time I can change the whole house water filter! Best buy this year. I struggle with being a petite woman and one task I can't handle in our home is changing the entire home water filter (Aquapur) - despite using a large amount of food grade silicone which recently replaced the entire unit . I've had people break plastic, we've double folded them, used pliers with limited success but not without scratching the canister. I saw a video on YouTube where a man just opens the filter…

A must have for your toolbox or desktop.

I had a home water filter that would not move or fall off. As it turned out, due to the pressure created, this is quite common, although the water supply system, as it were, seals the filter. I've tried everything to get rid of it. Even my 20 year old nephew tried and he actually broke the wrench that comes with the filter when trying to remove it. I went online and found a video of a man trying to remove a water filter and he had a few different suggestions. Towards the end of the video he…

Suitable for non-greasy application. Not recommended for oily hulls.

I wouldn't brag about this product but it did exactly what I wanted it to do. I used it on an Aquapure AP801 plastic water filter housing that I had problems with the factory plastic key lever. So I compare it to a plastic key. However, in my opinion the strap is too short for most of the work it can be used for. For example, I used it on a 6.25" acrylic plastic case and it kept wanting to slide off, requiring me to constantly adjust the key. I felt that if the nylon strap had just 6 inches…
