We bought a very expensive humidifier but it stopped working properly after only a few weeks. I went to Consumer Reports and they had a video about this type of humidifier. It is also cheaper to buy filters than an expensive model. These filters allow you to use unfiltered water and not worry about white dust accumulation as it is filtered. Major advantage.
