I hate flies! I have horses and they attract flies. We have more flies in our house and shed than most. I've tried sprays, patches, fly repellent and bags but the flies are still there. This lamp excels at killing flies with ease. The only thing I hate more than flies are mosquitoes. It works even better for them. I like the improved lamp like the setup and stand. Don't get me wrong, I love hitting them with this too, but it actually does a great job of attracting and killing them on its own. Every time I hear a bang, I'm happy. The best part is that you don't even have to deal with fly intestines. They are much neater than regular fly swatters. It has a battery indicator so you can be sure it's always charged and ready to go. I was skeptical as it looks useless but I'm proud that it's a winner and works well. I would recommend it!
