Please note that I am using them in a live environment, not in the studio. I think that's an important distinction because I'm not listening for noise or transients that can ruin a recording. I didn't notice any of them to be honest, but they really need to be captured to make sure they exist, and that just doesn't happen in a live setting. My point is that my five star rating is for live use only. In my conditions (live and in rehearsals) they turned out to be calm and reliable for such situations. By reliable I mean ones that have been used mostly as patch cords but have been plugged in and unplugged many times over the past two years with no problems. This gives me a lot of confidence in their workmanship and the quality of the components that make them up. I have other XLR patch cords that have failed in a shorter period of time. Overall I trust these cables. I took a risk when I bought them because I'd never heard of the brand, but they've stood the test of time and that's where their value lies: solid cables at a decent price.
