The wipers on my truck wouldn't return home - it sounded like the engine or transmission was stuck. Instead of taking it to the store and wasting money on their diagnostic skills, I decided to just buy this part and replace it myself. I didn't care if the problem was with the engine, gearbox or linkage - I figured it was best and easiest to just swap everything out. There are tons of videos on YouTube showing how to properly remove the entire fairing and old assembly. They changed me in about 1.5 hours. The item fit perfectly and was very well protected. I would recommend wearing car gloves to protect your hands from assembly grease and abrasion while working. For my GMC I needed 15mm, 10mm and 7mm socket wrenches, a flat head screwdriver and a trim tool to remove a plastic trim clip. Much luck!
