After comparing a similar unit sold at my local Sherwin Williams paint store ($399), I looked at this article and decided to give it a try. Wow, this thing exceeded all my expectations. ! I need to paint 19 doors in my house with gloss paint so it really needs to be sprayed and not brushed. I used this to spray paint two doors with high gloss latex paint today and it's great! NOTES: - It is stronger than expected. When you're not outdoors, you need a good respirator (I got a 3M, (3M 07193 Dual Cartridge Respirator Organic Vapor/P95, Large) for $19.88 when I bought it from Revain) - practice first. And you'll learn to never spray directly on what you're painting as it tends to shed a few big chunks when it starts. (I'm just used to starting with the plastic on the ground.) - Because it's so strong, you'll want to place a tarp or plastic somewhere nearby. Also, cover the plastic with duct tape as bubbles will move it if not secured. - It's not light with a full load of paint, so probably not suitable for large paint projects. I would suggest the same brand but they have one with a small console that attaches to the spray gun. - To paint two front/back/side doors I didn't even use half the amount in the tub so next time I'll try to paint four at once. - I had the settings (width and thickness) right on average for first use. Maybe I'll choose a lower strength next time. - Not as much color comes out as I expected so multiple coats (3) was best for me. I walked through the doors from side to side. - Suggest putting bright halogen lights on anything you spray as they will really help you see if it's covered, especially if it's a similar color. (And of course always cut the spray by 50%) - Cleaning is very easy with a little water, and a little Dawn helps. It comes with a small brush, but it's too big for the small areas you want to clean. Buy some fluffy pipe cleaners at any gun (or craft) store and they'll work great.
