Everything is as described by the manufacturer of this pistol grip head, as well as by those who have left their reviews here. It's strong, doesn't creep off center, is heavy, changes turns quickly, can handle heavy loads, etc. But there is one problem with this head that I found. HE REVOLVES WITH ACTIONS. To describe my setup, the pistol grip head is mounted on a Giotto's MT9370 professional grade aluminum tripod. This is a very heavy tripod. Attaches to both the neck and base with screws to prevent the head from accidentally detaching when framing at difficult angles. The G100 is equipped with a Nikon D800 with a rechargeable battery and a 58mm f1.4 lens. Also attached to the camera is a Pocket Wizard X and shutter cable. I then assembled my frame by aligning it with the x and y axis. I took 2 shots (using a different Taschenmeister for wireless triggering) of the same subject and found it misaligned. The second shot was slightly to the right of the first. Without changing the setting, I took 2 shots again. And they still don't match. This time to the left. I needed to figure out what was going on, so I tapped the side of the camera lightly. There it shakes! I've tried everything from tightening the small screw on the head to putting weight on the bottom of the tripod. At slower speeds, say long exposures, I get a bit of blur. Not that important, but what if I was outside, by the sea and in the wind? I couldn't find a solution and it just might not be useful. Trust me I want to use it as it makes composing easier. And it looks bad *ss. For those who bought this, click on the camera and you'll see what I mean.
