Lasted almost 2 months

I bought this pistol grip head as a replacement head for a tripod whose old pistol grip was worn out. Initially, this tripod head worked great. Nice and tight, easy to adjust. But after using it for youtube tutorials about 1-2 times a week for 2 months (I really like it for shooting from different angles) this grip lost all seal. I'm trying to set it up and it just crashes. In order to use this, I now have to position my tripod in such a way that the free, downward-tilted tripod head can record

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Too dull

Custom hardware

The pistol grip is a good idea. It's a lot easier than a standard ball mount. The problem is that all interfaces to other devices (tripod, camera mount) are non-standard. The camera mount is ALMOST a universal standard ARCA mount, but it's too small (like switching between metric and imperial sizes). The top unscrews with a standard hex nut, but the remaining top plate is ALMOST the right size for the ARCA universal base. Again, there's something non-standard about the fact that there's a…

Swiss Style Arca Ball Head with Security Button (Dolica B204 Pro)

This is a really well designed and attractive tripod ball head. Designed for high-performance applications to accommodate large cameras or cameras installed in cages with additional equipment. The head has 2 knobs, one for rotating and positioning the ball and one for panning horizontally (for use with either video or panorama stitching). The feature I like the most (and would have liked to see other tripods) is a safety button that prevents the camera from falling off the stand until you press

Pros
  • Positive Only
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Excellent goods. One of my best Amazon purchases.

I am VERY satisfied with the product itself. Ever since I started photography I have always bought Bogen and Manfrotto heads and tripods because I thought they were the best. Last year I noticed that all my tripods and heads were broken or falling apart. When my last bowhead finally broke last week, I decided to try a new brand. Saw it on Amazon and decided to try it. I've only had it a few hours but I can tell you it's a REALLY IMPRESSIVE head. It's all metal, damn solid, and overall built…

Pros
  • I like everything so far
Cons
  • Some little things

Very durable and comfortable pistol grip ball head. It holds my camera in place with a relatively heavy lens. I have small hands and have had no problems with this professional style ball head. The pistol grip adds speed and flexibility to my photography. The quick release plate is strong and has a safety lock. The G100 pistol grip is well designed from base to tip! Adjustable pressure with a hex wrench (preferably a socket wrench included) was very helpful. This rating would have been five…

Ball head good, quick release mechanism bad

After adjusting the tension (tightening the hex screw on the center line of the bracket) the grip holds quite well. but never forget to tighten the locking screw on the head! Even after the tongue clicks, it may not, assuming the QR plate is locked. Even when it snaps into place, the trigger is easy to touch and release the tab when in use. Part of a gear fell off this afternoon because I didn't realize how critical the set screw was. To be honest, I'm not sure if the problem was the lock not…

Pros
  • Good price
Cons
  • Poorly adjusted

I couldn't find a solution and it just might not be usable.

Everything is as described by the manufacturer of this pistol grip head, as well as by those who have left their reviews here. It's strong, doesn't creep off center, is heavy, changes turns quickly, can handle heavy loads, etc. But there is one problem with this head that I found. HE REVOLVES WITH ACTIONS. To describe my setup, the pistol grip head is mounted on a Giotto's MT9370 professional grade aluminum tripod. This is a very heavy tripod. Attaches to both the neck and base with screws to…

Pros
