Review on Dolica P200 Professional High-Performance Video Pan Head (Black): Full-Size Versatility for Enhanced Filmmaking Experience by Samuel Lewis

Very durable and comfortable pistol grip ball head. It holds my camera in place with a relatively heavy lens. I have small hands and have had no problems with this professional style ball head. The pistol grip adds speed and flexibility to my photography. The quick release plate is strong and has a safety lock. The G100 pistol grip is well designed from base to tip! Adjustable pressure with a hex wrench (preferably a socket wrench included) was very helpful. This rating would have been five stars if the packaging had the INSTRUCTIONS on it and stated that this head requires a 3/8" to 1/4" converter to work on many tripods (many other ball heads come with a set of converter screws supplied). . This information was not clearly stated on the website. The Dolica website only displays the sales sheet. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out, and I'm no genius, but a manual or owner's manual would be the icing on the cake of an exceptionally well-crafted piece of Photo Gear. This pistol grip head securely holds my Sony Alpha SLT with a wide aperture zoom lens (no slipping) even at 90 degrees. I've used this ball head with a camera/lens combo weighing over six pounds with no problems. Great value if you have a solid tripod. I warmly recommend this product. Keep in mind that it's solid and heavy in my opinion, and the Dolica G100's sturdy tripod and pistol grip is a very useful combination.
