Review on Black Memphis Shades (MEM7031) Batwing Fairing for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Victory and Yamaha Models by Keith Wolff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The installation took longer than it should.

Well, I'm not quite sure what to say about that. It's a little thinner than I expected, but still very durable to ride: It's eliminated much of the rattling I got from my old windshield, and also blocks MUCH more wind: I can now do 55mph fairly comfortably without it Drive glasses if I want (with a high windshield). Installation wasn't terribly difficult, but it certainly requires a small wrench: if the idea of undoing a few screws bothers you, you'll want to install this for you (although, to be honest, it's just a few screws and none of them). holding something that could damage the bike or something else if removed). It took me about an hour and a half to remove my old windshield mounts and install the mounting kit for this thing (note: for my bike the kit is part number MEK1923. for round lock mounts) - a few bolts were tricky to install due to the thickness of the washers . but my bike isn't exactly out of stock because the previous owner introduced himself as a mechanic (he may know more than I do, but he's not a good bike mechanic). Nothing fancy: Place it above my headlight, around my light bar, and with a slight twist in front of my speakers. The quick release mechanism for removing/installing the bat wing is amazing - you can actually detach/attach it. In a few seconds. This impressed me more than anything about this purchase: I highly recommend purchasing the Memphis Shades Trigger Lock Mount Kit rather than trying another mounting solution. So far very happy with the purchase.
