Not very strong but works great for removing all those pesky little bits of junk from the cat box. Not for the impatient as sifting takes a few minutes but gets the job done. I have found that this works best if you first use a regular sized scoop and then sift a small amount by tilting the front up and lowering the handle slightly as you sift. This will roll the small pieces to the back of the scoop where they won't fall out. I'm going to buy another one for my niece for Christmas now that I know it works.
