Over the years I have replaced many screens and home buttons on i devices. This home button on the iPhone SE ranks pretty low on the detail quality scale. What should have been a five-minute fix turned into an hour of swearing. Detail issues: - The button assembly is too thick to fit under the metal bracket - The ribbon cable in the first section that connects to the button is 2mm too long - There is no hole in the ribbon cable for the mounting screw. For example, the original connector design at the end of the ribbon cable is inferior and barely fits the phone connector. After bending the metal bracket to accommodate the large button, carefully bending the tape under the bracket, and wrestling with the non-locking connector, the button finally worked. The only thing holding the plug in place is a metal clip. In fact, it never latched into the socket. Others have posted photos of the clear difference between the factory plug and the replacement plug. I'll be surprised if it lasts a month. Two stars because the button worked.
