We have a small rescue dog who has been through many health problems. We were planning a trip abroad and wanted to stay in different places over a 2 week period. I bought this cage in advance to give her time to get used to it. She liked it straight away! There are holes on the back through which you can pass the seat belt for safety in the car while driving. The firm material of the zippered upper protected them from the sun. We left the front zip partially open so we could easily put water, treats, etc. in it, but it could be closed up when the sun was out. It's lightweight, easy to take out of the car and sleep anywhere at night. The bottom pad that comes with it isn't very thick, so I bought an extra soft pad for the drawer. for more cushioning. The cage became her usual place to sleep wherever we were, and she felt safe in it. She was so happy in it that we continued to use it to sleep on when we returned. I love this box and can only recommend it to everyone. It can be easily folded to a very small size and stored in a pocket when needed. She is quite small and 27 inches is just right for her. It has enough space to stretch out and move around while you sleep, yet small enough to be comfortable.
