This cable converts the video output from the USB-C port on my MacBook Pro to VGA to power my old Dell Ultrasharp monitor. It does the job, but every time I plug in a cable or start the computer, I get an error saying the device is using too much power. The signal continues to drive the monitor, but the error message triggers an alarm. How do I know it won't damage my expensive Mac? I know the cable is drawing too much power, not the monitor, because when I connect the cable to the computer without connecting it to the monitor, I get the same error message. I tried to contact the manufacturer (DteeDck) about the problem but got no response. I will be returning this cable and trying a different manufacturer's cable.
