Shiny dishes. They completely eliminate the noise and jerks associated with moving and pulling on wires during exercise/running. An added benefit is that these phones aren't affected by pressure in your ear canal, so you can hold these bad guys around all day without earache or fatigue. Another nice side benefit is that you can pull the earbuds out of your ears, leaving loops on your ears so you can actually have a conversation. It comes with a small clothing clip which I never got used to. When I use it, I usually just tuck the cord behind my shirt, behind my head, and through the sleeve of my t-shirt to my MP3 player while I run. Keeps cables out of the way and won't snag. They're about as sweat and water resistant as you could hope for. I've taken them for hours on end in the pouring rain and aside from the bass boost when a thin layer of water seals the tiny gap between the earcups and my ear canal, they've worked great. Expect to buy another pair after about a year or two, as heavy wear and tear, accumulation of skin cells in small holes, etc. will degrade the sound quality and plug a bit. But these things are so cheap and readily available that it's not really a problem. Great deal, great headphones. Update --- August 24, 2015 seems unreasonable. I've had two pairs of these for almost 5 years now (thought I'd eventually lost one, ordered a second and found the first). Both are still strong. Although I recently destroyed one device when I found it in a freshly laundered pocket, one of the speakers popped out of the earpiece; but I put the speaker back into the headphones and they still sound like new.
