This is a great scanner at a great price. I had previously used an older model with 1D scans and was happy so decided to try this one when we needed more. I feel like CMOS scanning is a lot easier than a laser scanner as you don't really have to line it up, just get closer. It still shows the red line just as a guide, but you can scan from any angle. It also has a white light that illuminates the area for more accurate scanning. This can also scan screens, which is a huge improvement, and we'll be able to create QR codes in the future if needed. That best little improvement over previous models is that you can now plug it in without going into USB mode. For example, I can use Bluetooth to scan to an iPad even if it's connected to a network (after changing this setting). Their battery life is really good, but with our setup it's easier to just leave them plugged in and never think about charging. We can probably also disable hibernation in the same way, so employees don't have to click to enable it and then scan. I was able to program this to work with our POS (Vend) by adding a tab in front of the code. to select the search field, and two carriage returns after the code to invoke it as an item. It is much more durable and about 1/4 times cheaper than the "recommended" scanner. All software is slightly different depending on how well it works, but generally if a Bluetooth keyboard can navigate it, this scanner can (unless it requires long pauses) after the code and before you type. Just take the time to read the scanning instructions. The stand is lightweight yet functional, but there are two screw holes that can be used to attach to a stand. Although we just received this device based on their previous model that we have been using for several years, I'm sure it will work great.
