Perfect for catching dirt and water. It's deep enough. I have this rug in our garage in the dirty room where we had our traffic. The mat has been weighted to make it durable (but flexible rubber) and non-slip. What I really liked was the soft, spongy feel, especially for bare feet. Flat-tipped bristles. Good for those quick trips in and out of the garage for something. I've seen a similar type at local hardware stores for the same price, but the mat is hard and the brushes are pointy. This rug is much better and will be a good buy for a long time.
