Not suitable for older users

Two stars because I have a friend whose mother loves her. They make analogue and digital versions. This is an analogue version, although the description says almost nothing and the datasheet says "microphone". They also don't say you need a TV with red-white-yellow OUTPUTS. Most modern TVs do NOT have these outputs. We finally got it working by purchasing a stereo RCA to phono plug adapter. Many TVs don't have a phono plug either, so check before you buy. We couldn't use these: 1. They have very little padding and are too tight for everyone, so they prick your ears. We felt uncomfortable, although not painful, as some reviewers have noted. Apparently they can be stretched a bit, but we didn't try them as they weren't usable anyway. 2. The signal requires a perfect line of sight between the headphones and the base station. If you turn your head or anything moves between you and the transmitter, the tone changes to a loud static tone. It didn't work for my elderly mother.3. The big problem is the lack of volume. With the TV volume at a high but acceptable volume and the TV's ears at maximum volume, they were still too quiet for my hard of hearing mother. With normal hearing I could hear them just fine at maximum volume, but they certainly don't produce much sound even at the highest settings. Bought a set of HF headphones which were cheaper, had much better sound, had more volume and worked anywhere in the room.

Pros
