It's a nice lamp overall. I find myself closing one eye when looking through the magnifying glass portion. Then I loose some depth perception. But I can't seem to use it with both eyes open for some reason. It comes in handy when working on small items (electronics) or small gauge railroad train car wheels etc. It's also good for looking at metal detecting finds. I've been able to take photos with my iphone through the magnifying glass and they come out decent. Have not used the clamp footing, the weighted base is working well. I like the dimming ability too.
