Review on 📻 Baofeng UV-5R 5RE Plus 5RA 5RB 5RC 5RD Antenna: Original Dual Band 136-174/400-520MHz U/V SMA-Female (Black) by Moe Gilbert

I received the antenna as planned with no problems. However, I am a bit disappointed with the performance of this antenna. First, this antenna is for Baofeng HT, as far as I understand. However, since the Baofeng HT is a broadband transceiver, this antenna is not well suited for the 2m and 440 ham radio bands. I connected a frequency analyzer to this antenna and the SWR was over 3 on 2m and the best reading was 2.8 on the Ham Radio Band 440. However, the best SWR values (less than 2) were found at NOAA Weather Freqs (162,400-162,550 MHz!). Of course you do NOT want to change! Also, you don't want to be transmitting on the ham radio bands and risk frying your HT with a totally mismatched antenna! I'm not saying all antennas are like this, but the one I bought is like this. BTW I tried to connect the nearest 2m repeater to this antenna but to no avail while my other HTs had no problems with their stock duck antennas. I'm just saying.
