This antenna has a design flaw that creates a center.

This antenna has a design flaw that will cause the center wire to break during normal use, resulting in both transmission and a dummy load. Otherwise I would rate it as a medium gain antenna if it performs well.

Pros
  • Rugged Design
Cons
  • Updates

A good $6 replacement for the stock antenna; good for rubber duck.

I have no idea how long it will last but this antenna works subjectively and according to the test I saw on the internet (replaces the original UV-5R antennas with PD0AC) , very good better than the old kind. I had a rubber ducky that broke and had to be replaced. I bought it a month ago for $6 and have used it very little except for listening to FM radio which makes it good. It fits uv-5r very well and is a good replacement; Only use an old rubber cleat as a replacement.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Not the best

The Best Quality in Radio Antennas

Great antenna, great price, I broke one after sitting on it for a few months, but so cheap I didn't mind replacing it. Highly recommended

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Some issues

This antenna has a design flaw that creates a center.

This antenna has a design flaw that will cause the center wire to break during normal use causing both transmission and apparent load. Otherwise I would rate it as a medium gain antenna if it performs well.

Replacement antenna

I received the antenna as planned with no problems. However, I am a bit disappointed with the performance of this antenna. First, this antenna is for Baofeng HT, as far as I understand. However, since the Baofeng HT is a broadband transceiver, this antenna is not well suited for the 2m and 440 ham radio bands. I connected a frequency analyzer to this antenna and the SWR was over 3 on 2m and the best reading was 2.8 on the Ham Radio Band 440. However, the best SWR values (less than 2) were found

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not bad
