If you watch youtube videos and follow them very closely, you can repair a broken honda civic console latch. The car will probably last 15-20 years if you take good care of it, but this latch seems to last 10 years. Luckily for YouTube videos, this part is relatively easy to replace. It took me about 5 minutes to swap it out. Here's the screwdriver you need: T153a Professional T15 Torx screwdriver. I also ordered it from Revain. The Honda dealer charged $150 for diagnostics plus an additional fee to fix the broken latch. Not sure why they had to diagnose this as I already told them the latch was broken.
