Review on Advanced Digital Auto Ranging Multimeter (AC/DC) by UNI-T - True RMS, Multitester by Ethan Carpenter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for electronics lovers

This gauge drew me in because it has a 22.00 rating. If you don't need that resolution and RS232, check out the Uni-T 139C. Yes, it's good when working with small electronic circuits. It is useless if the main power devices are repaired. The RS232 port requires a standard RS232 port, not a USB UART. The body looks solid. The sensors are clearly not the best. Please note that there are no probe holders on the housing. I like the switch layout that the first click from the "OFF" position is DC voltage because I've used it for a circuit when most of the meter is AC voltage. Because there are 5 digits on the display, the number appears smaller than a typical counter of this size. This counter has a lot of hacks on the internet. There are many missing features that need to be hacked. There is no backlight. No automatic shutdown. I hacked to disable autopower function by turning off RS232.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than other picks
