. Other than that though, it's a very good KVM switch with great features (although I haven't figured it all out yet). The user manual is available in PDF format if the booklet in the box isn't enough for you, but don't expect much from IOGEAR's technical support hotline. Not only do you get voicemail at all hours of the day, but you also don't respond when you post your problem online. B. Everything. However, the switch works pretty well and I recommend it if you can troubleshoot yourself. However, the included DisplayPort cables are rubbish. Sure, they look/feel good, are well insulated and thick, but they aren't DP certified and you'll find your monitors flickering/flashing, especially when using laptops connected to docking stations. Disconnecting monitors from the switch and plugging them directly into the docking station eliminates the flickering/flashing. My monitors aren't 4k so I haven't overloaded the switch or the DP channel from the computer. At first I thought the switch was the problem - I updated the firmware etc, but then decided it might be certified cables (found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ B083C3ZZ9X/ref= ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00 ?ie =UTF8&psc=1) would be better. In short, they did and the problem was completely gone. Do yourself a favor and buy certified cables. I consider the wiring issue to be minor, but the tech support issue is worth one star. It still gets a 4 star rating because the switch is high quality and reliable. Since I got the right cables I haven't had any problems with them. I want EDID information to be stored on the ports of the computers you switch from, because when you switch to another computer, the first computer moves all your open windows to the primary display and doesn't bring them back. when you switch back to this computer. That's annoying, but it's less the switch than DisplayPort and Windows. I expect to find a workaround for this at some point. In any case, the switch is pretty good and allows you to MST/daisy chain your monitors, through the switch, and to your computer or dock, resulting in fewer cables being used at the desk, making for a cleaner workspace, huh allows me to indulge my inner zen. If you're looking for a good KVM, this is a good candidate. Just be sure to buy certified cables and avoid the ones that come with the kit.
