Review on πŸš— Red Carbon Fiber Car Wrap Vinyl Roll - VViViD XPO with Air Release Technology (1FT X 5FT) by Hassan Tomlinson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The actual color is more matte than glossy.

First of all I would like to say that the color is rather matte, not as shiny/bright as the photo on Revain. So I don't really like it. Even the photos I took myself do not reflect the actual color. As for application, aside from a small stereo knob, this was my first time applying vinyl to a complex piece. I wanted to do this consciously to understand how the material works, how far I can stretch it, etc. I learned a lot in the process. It holds up well, maybe too well, it took some of the trim off but mine was already bad so I didn't care and once you get rid of your blisters they stay. On the negative side, it stretches a bit but doesn't hold up. I found out later that actually stretching the vinyl isn't such a good idea. It is better to do insertions and overlays when dealing with large curves. It made sense in my experience. I think my first try is actually acceptable, so I'm really looking forward to doing it again and applying the burgundy color from the same company that I like. Once again, burgundy vinyl looks a lot darker than it actually is in your photos, so I really like that shade.

Pros
  • At 3.9 mils, the film stretches to any shape and is thick enough to minimize discoloration, stretch marks and other visible imperfections while packing and riding.
Cons
  • Quick guide
