I knit window coverings with split acrylic yarn and make very complicated patterns. It just looks beautiful. It's also very easy to sew two pieces together into a great design. Just remember to start and work in the middle. I mainly do cross stitch, but it can also be used for more traditional embroidery. I also recommend them for beginners as they don't need a frame and for spots where they might need a wash off. I put them on thin cotton backings where they can be hung in a pattern against a window or fabric. When the sun goes down all the colors of the yarn sparkle and it looks very pretty. Also leave small pieces. They can be used for other projects or add a piece.
