The plastic bag containing all the rocks and fossils looked depressingly small at first, but when it was opened and examined closely it turned out to be full of interesting little fossils war, teeth, shells, etc. Tip here: open the corner of the bag, fill it with water and blot to spill out the water with all the dust and dirt. Be careful when pouring or pour it through a sieve or colander. A few rinses will save you from a potential mess. I got the idea to clear out the reviews that said 'trench' was dirty. Great product for interested kids, more fun than buying a brick as they find fossils and compare them to the picture cards in the set. Fossils will be quite small; I think there was a lovely quarter sized ammonite in a tiny plastic bag for protection and a very well polished orthoceras which delighted our 6 year old.
