Review on ImmersionRC Vortex 150 Mini Racing by Andrew Woodruff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Awesome mid-size mini quadcopter ready to fly

I have flown many quads from the DJI Phantom to the Mavic and have started riding quads. A nearly indestructible EMAX Babyhawk or one of the many other micro quads under 100mm is a great introduction to acro flying. When I was ready to go bigger I settled on the Vortex 150 and enjoyed every flight because it's a definite step up in performance but is still small enough to fly in tight spaces. Pros: Flies great out of the box. Add a satellite receiver and get started (plug and play with dsmx serial satellite). Spend your time flying, not tinkering betaflight Cons The stock camera isn't great, but it's passable. There's plenty of room to replace an aftermarket camera if that's what you want. Arming with the throttle sticks and launching the OSD with the aileron sticks takes some getting used to. Overall, this quad's ready-to-fly configuration saves you literally hours of idle time and allows you to spend your flight time in the field rather than RCgroups trying to figure it all out.
