I've never used hand lotion all the time as I don't like the greasy film it leaves. As I get older, it's much easier to see how dry my hands are. In the early months of the pandemic, frequent hand washing made my hands uncomfortably dry—my fingertips were "hoarse,” if that makes a difference—and my hands felt much older than they actually were. Lotion is amazing! It's hypoallergenic and not greasy at all. I squeeze the smallest amount onto the back of my hand and it's enough to completely cover both hands. In less than a minute, both hands will become slightly sticky as the lotion absorbs. It is quickly and completely absorbed, leaving hands smooth and soft immediately. The scent starts off oppressively strong, but gradually becomes bearable. In general, this is a very pleasant experience! I like this brand enough, but this is the first Avène product I've tried that I would call a "must have". I bought the 1.6 oz but wish I had bought giant tubes to put by every sink in my house. I will try to use after every (!) hand washing.
