I bought this little heater for a rather odd purpose and it works great! If you use VR glasses like the Oculus, you are probably aware of the fact that the lenses almost always fog up when you put the glasses on for the first time. You then need to remove the headset two or three times, wiping the lenses each time, until the headset reaches body temperature. I've found that all of this can be avoided by heating the lenses with a hair dryer or similar for 15-20 seconds, but it causes a headache. my headset when not in use as you can see in the photos. I connected the heating to a smart switch that is connected to my home automation system. Now I can just say "Alexa, turn on the headset heater" and the heater will turn on for 35 seconds (I found this to be a good time to warm up the lenses to stop them fogging up) and then spin off automatically. . The power switch on the heater is thankfully mechanical, so you can leave it in the "on" position to control it with a separate outlet or switch. After this short warm-up time, the lenses no longer fog up. The fan itself is very quiet and heats up almost immediately. I can't vouch for its long-term performance as I only use it for 35 seconds at a time, maybe once or twice a day, but it looks solidly built. Very happy with the price!
