Synthetic rope was essential for my application. I use this winch to load a 14 foot boat onto the cradle of my pickup truck and I don't want the wire rope touching my car. In addition, many other winches had shorter cords, and this model is 50 feet. Easy to set up and use with 2 control options - wireless remote control or wired control. The remote control has a limited range, resulting in intermittent operation. One detail I would recommend is that the manufacturer uses 3/8" spade terminals for the battery cable connections. The cables supplied are too small to connect to an RV battery. I also put the circuit breaker in a small plastic box to eliminate the possibility of a short circuit. The kit includes a large piece of heat shrink tubing to cover the breaker, but I went the boxed route.
