This 50w FREESEA heater arrived from Revain today. It was purchased to maintain 84F in a 10 gallon aquarium to serve as a quarantine tank. The tank used a borrowed 150w heater before the FREESEA heater arrived. Upon arrival, this 50W FREESEA heater (designed to heat 5-15 gallon 64-93F aquariums) was fully submerged in the aquarium before being plugged in and the borrowed heater removed. The new FREESEA heater started cycling on and off within minutes of being plugged into the mains. An hour later I checked the tank temperature and found it had dropped 2 degrees to 82 F (68 F ambient). Four hours after installation, the heater continued to cycle on and off, but now the temperature in the tank has dropped to 78 degrees Fahrenheit. I immediately replaced the FREESEA heater with a locally purchased Eheim heater. Now the temperature in the tank is properly maintained and the defective FREESEA heater is sent back to Revain.
