This monitor is a good buy and I picked it up this weekend. This monitor does not have software drivers like expensive monitors, which allow access to special video modes and further clean up the image on the screen. It uses the basic drivers included in the operating system. When I first plugged it in, the picture was really blurry and I had my doubts. When I changed the resolution to the maximum screen size, the monitor immediately cleared. After that, I can now resize the screen with very little loss of resolution. It even connected to my Redhat 8 system and picked up with no issues except for one. In Xwindow mode, the screen image is very sharp, but during boot/shutdown, the native Linux black screen was very blurry, as if it was difficult to switch video mode. I don't know about just booting in command line mode, but I use the GUI exclusively on Linux. You may need to rebuild the kernel for it to work properly in this situation.
