If I could give zero stars I would. 😡 Absolutely terrible, noisy and useless filter. I got this filter for my 40 gallon aquarium with red-eared sliders and small fish. Immediately after installing the filter, there was a loud bang, and the "waterfall" is incredibly loud. Strange noises from this filter kept me and my other pets from sleeping. I thought it needed to be "broken in" but it's been three days now and my tank is foggy and I can't even see my turtles. It stinks too! My tank never smells, but this filter does nothing except swirl the water. Terrible product. I will be back and I do not recommend this. UPDATE: Shortly after I removed the filter and put my old one in, I noticed my fish didn't look right. Now four of my fish are dead because of that horrible filter.
