Review on 🚨 ESUPPORT 12V 20A Bar Rocker Switch with Red LED Hazard Warning Light Lamp for Car Motor: The Ultimate Safety Enhancement by James Julien

Poor design, requires 2 diodes to work properly

Before installing I decided to test it on a bench to make sure I installed it correctly. Uses a 9V battery and 2 LEDs (each LED mimics my left and right turn signals). Once it was on I noticed that one LED looked dimmer than the other. I pulled out my multimeter and indeed I saw a 4V drop across one of the banks (probably due to the lit LED working in series and not parallel to ground on pin 7). I think this design is unfortunate as PIN 7 is already a dedicated ground, giving you two 12V outputs, no 12V output and no 8V output (with current limiting). Here's how I connected it: Pin 2: 9V + Pin 3: LED 1 connected to 9V - Pin 6: 9V + Pin 7: 9V - Pin 8: LED 2 connected to 9V After double checking the schematic, I made sure this was the Case should be connected like this: Pin 2: 9V + Pin 3: LED 1 is at 9V- and LED 2 is at 9V Pin 6: 9V + Pin 7: 9V - Pin 8: 9V - Yes, this switch works, but since both LEDs are connected to the same output you need to prevent "voltage backflow". If you wire your car this way, you're basically losing your left and right "turn signals" and just getting stuck. To fix this you need two 1A diodes to make a proper connection, which as I said is very unfortunate for what appears to be a good product.

Pros
  • 5 PINS WITH LED LIGHT, ON/OFF
Cons
  • Minor things
