SmartHalo is a great device for getting around town on a bike. It attaches securely to your bike while looking cool. Delivery was surprisingly quick. Even though I opted for free shipping and not Prime, I received my device within 2 days. The packaging looks classy with Apple's attention to detail. The initial setup takes a bit of time, but the app guides you through it with clear step-by-step instructions and helpful diagrams. Using SmartHalo is very easy and intuitive. The application is convenient and intuitive. As soon as you walk out the door you stop using the app which is really nice. You can control most functions by clicking on the device. I was impressed to find that the touchscreen was 100% responsive even when wearing thick gloves. I particularly liked the compass navigation, where the device literally points you in the right direction and lets you choose your own route; It's perfect for cycling through a familiar city. The first impression is that the battery life is very good. I used it on a 2 hour bike ride and the battery was barely 10% dead. Removing the device from the mount to charge it with the key can be a bit tricky, but it beats the alternative of having to pull out a very long USB cable to charge it on the bike itself! I love the fitness tracking metrics. The "set it and forget it” principle simplifies the task. Overall, I would recommend this device to anyone who gets around town on a bike. You get a lot of features for a relatively low price, and the device and app are very well designed.
