As a cat lover, I really liked this product. In fact, I bought it to open my bedroom door for my cat to get in and out of where I keep her food. Then one morning, after only a few weeks with me, it broke as I got up in the morning. The cat piece was completely detached from the base and I have no idea how my 7 pound cat could break something cast iron if it wasn't broken. It's a shame, because I really liked this doorstop. However, I found that I could only use the cat's non-base part as a doorstop. Instead of complaining or trying to send it back I did just that.
