Review on Protect Your Island Grill: Weather-Resistant Cover With Adjustable Drawcord And Mesh Vent by Kyle Robbins

I purchased this as a cover for an oversized grill. I have the Weber Genesis with Island Cabinetry add-on, which makes the grill about 89 inches wide. There are no standard grill covers in the store that fit a grill that size, at least none that I could find. Weber sells one for that configuration, but it covers the top only. I live in a rainy, humid climate, close to water, so I need to keep the whole grill covered.This fits very nicely. I got the 98 inch cover as all the others were too small. It's a bit large but not really noticably. The quality seems good. It's the polyester, but not the SD. It feels strong enough and seems like it will protect the grill from the climate and the weather. However, when it rains, water gets into the mesh sides and stays in there. When I remove the cover, there is a lot of moisture inside. I need to either get rid of this and get a new cover, or move my grill to a spot where rain can't hit it. That's unfortunate, because the whole point of a grill cover is to protect it from the elements and this is not doing that. I don't know why they would put mesh on the sides. My last grill cover had no side mesh or openings, and I had no issues. It's not necessary and defeats the purpose of a "cover" - especially one that is pretty expensive!This does not have velcro on the bottoms to close it around the base of the grill, but rather it has elastic on the bottom so there is a nice, snug fit. It's easier than some other grill covers I have owned to slide this over the entire grill. It's thinner, so that's probably why. A heavy cover of this size would be difficult to work with.Overall, it's a good cover if you don't have the grill somewhere that rain can hit it. Otherwise, if this is exposed to rain or other water, don't get it. I'd probably give it 2 1/2 stars, but we can't give 1/2 stars on here.
