This product offers the user the ability to connect to a wired network when the traditional RG-45 Ethernet connection is not available on a wireless device. I am using this device with my 2nd generation Microsoft Surface Go, Windows 10 operating system which provides a wireless connection that is available during normal operation. When this USB 3.0 Ethernet adapter is connected to a USB Type-C adapter or USB-C hub, I can connect to it using an RJ-45 Ethernet cable connected to an Ethernet switch establish a wired Ethernet connection. The adapter was recognized quickly and the drivers for the device were loaded automatically. It was a simple plug and play connection.
