This part appears to be well made and works great with the HDMI connector. I bought this to use my old VGA monitor on my 2018 Mac Mini. I couldn't get the VGA side to work. The computer recognized the monitor and even the model, but the screen remained black. The seller worked very well with me and sent me a second adapter. It still didn't work. I did a little research on this. I've found reports online of people having trouble getting VGA to work, even with Apple branded VGA adapters on these minis. I tested my primary high-resolution monitor with this adapter and it worked fine. I decided to leave this part and buy a small monitor with HDMI. I give the seller a high rating for customer service. Upon further testing, I found that the problem wasn't between the adapter and the Mac, but rather between the adapter and my monitor. I hooked up a new monitor using the VGA port and it worked fine. Apparently some monitors are not compatible.
