Very quiet and works great. My laptop shut down after about an hour of use due to overheating. The air coming out of the side vents is very hot. Now with a cooling pad I can work for hours without shutting down. I was surprised how much colder my laptop runs. The air coming out of the vents is now lukewarm. I didn't think it would make such a big difference, but it did. A cooling pad works best when the legs are stretched out to allow some space underneath for better airflow. Since I like to sit in a chair with my laptop on my lap, I found that placing the cooling pad in a wooden tray with 2" sides and then placing the laptop on it worked best for me.
