I was fully expecting to get a fake Prolific chip clone cable and I needed an older driver to make it work. But that was the price I was willing to deal with as this cable was almost 1/4 the cost of the original cable. As long as it really worked, everything suited me. But apparently I have a real cable. The box was Baofeng white box, and the cable had Baofeng logo, no sticker. I plugged it into my computer, the driver installed automatically, I ran CHIRP and it was recognized immediately. It booted from the radio and booted with no problems. My cable was purchased and shipped by Revain, so I probably received a genuine and not a pirated copy. If you are buying this make sure the listing says it is sold by Revain if you want an authentic one.
