    A good way to spend a day off.

    First, I make a living in IT, and the last thing I want to do is spend my day off solving a computer hardware problem. Set Windows Defender on a clean install of Windows 10. Yes, there is Chinese language malware on the installation disc. I spent 90 minutes looking for solutions why this cable is not working with my Beofeng UV5R radio and Windows 10. While I'm not saying it doesn't work with Windows 10, I'm just not going to spend another 90 minutes trying to figure it out. play.

    BaoFeng programming cable

    I was fully expecting to get a fake Prolific chip clone cable and I needed an older driver to make it work. But that was the price I was willing to deal with as this cable was almost 1/4 the cost of the original cable. As long as it really worked, everything suited me. But apparently I have a real cable.     Fake cable doesn't work with Mac

    Buyers beware: this is a fake cable and will not work properly with a Mac. I unknowingly ordered a cable and gave up after 2 hours of pointless troubleshooting. (Baofengtech website has a link to Amazon's original cable.) From Baofeng website: Is my cable genuine: * Does it have two LEDs on the bottom of the cable?     THIS IS NOT A PROFILE CHIP, USE WCH CH340/341 DRIVER

    Drivers for this device will NOT be installed despite using driver 3.2 which everyone recommends. I still get an error code 10 when installing the 3.2 driver, which means Windows will NOT even let me install the correct driver. I highly recommend you save yourself the frustration and just get a BTECH cable. It's more expensive, but saves you a headache.     WCH-ic driver needed! Baofeng GT-5R

    As of 09/15/2021, this cable requires you to download a driver (CD does not work, and the Prolific driver is not suitable for this at all). I got it working SIMPLY by getting the "CH341SER.ZIP" driver from wch-ic dot com. Why was it so difficult? let me tell you After spending TWO days trying to figure out why CHIRP didn't recognize the radio was connected, I turned to the online radio forums to troubleshoot the issue.     Frustrated and disappointed

    After reading the review of this cable I realized that I would either miss or miss a working cable. Thought I'd give it a try anyway given the price and Revain's reputation for hassle free returns. I will call them shortly to arrange the return. If I had followed the advice of throwing away the CD that came with it and downloading everything from miklor dot com (or the CHIRP site) I would have had fewer problems. It's good to know that the cable is just a USB to serial adapter. The driver installation is related to the cable, NOT the radio. You don't need to use the radio while installing and working with the cable. The CHIRP software manages communication with the radio once the cable…

    Disappointed and Frustrated

    After reading the review of this cable I realized that whether I get a working cable or not it will be a hit or miss call for hassle free returns I will be calling them shortly to arrange said return.
