Frustrated and disappointed

After reading the review of this cable I realized that I would either miss or miss a working cable. Thought I'd give it a try anyway given the price and Revain's reputation for hassle free returns. I will call them shortly to arrange the return. My radio is a Bao UV-5r, I already have the chirp software as everyone else has recommended (because the Bao software is rubbish), I was very excited to get this cable and play with it as I'm getting a Bought original Nagoya NA-771 15.6" VHF/UHF (144/430MHz) SMA Female Whip Antenna for AnyTone, BaoFeng and Yaesu to boost that signal. Anyway, here's what happened. Order received, unsuccessful tried to connect the cable to my machine with Win10 (64-bit).Went to Miklor to download the Prolific drivers which worked (great site btw), wired everything up and installed. The device still doesn't recognize this cable .I tried playing around with it for 3 hours with no progress.I thought - well this is my Win10 (64bit) machine. Tried on Win7 machine (64bit) - same result. Then it dawned on me maybe it's 64 -Bit encryption?I did the whole process er Tried again on a Win7 machine (32 bit) with Chirp software, Prolific drivers etc etc. NO LUCK. At this point I'm frustrated, I called the fuse, for me cable cable should it be like installing a printer? Download the driver, point the driver to the right place, and you're good to go. No it's not. Maybe I'm missing something here, maybe it's the cable, I'm not sure. I'll be returning it and going with the original BTECH PC03 FTDI USB Programming Cable for BTECH, BaoFeng, Kenwood and AnyTone Radio as it feels like a true plug and play option. I'd rather pay a little more so as not to waste so much time fumbling with a cable that hit or didn't hit. I am very disappointed in my purchase and would like to find plug and play first.
