These are durable plastic bottles that are definitely very resistant to leaks. They're food safe, but I'm not sure they're the best choice for serving thicker sauces and condiments like ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce, and the like. The first downside is the narrow neck, which makes filling a slow and potentially messy task. The second is a grommet that appears to be made of closed-cell foam. The washing machine probably makes the bottles "spill-proof," but whatever it's made of captures the colors, tastes, and smells of what's in the bottle, and is another small part that needs cleaning and may be missing space is. If you use these bottles to fill other, thinner liquids around the kitchen I would recommend another Tovla product, their A27 squeeze bottles, for thicker sauces. These bottles do not have a sealing disc, but are still very leak-proof. They also have a much wider mouth, a built-in lid, and are much easier to squeeze. In general, A27s are better for condiments and sauces, IMHO.
