Overheats and shuts off after very little use

I use it to shrink biscuits and it's great, but believe it or not I can't do eight biscuits at once bake - even if you turn it off and wait a few minutes between cookies as it seems to be overheating and the safety mechanism won't allow it to work again for a while. Some time. I'll look for an alternative because patience is a virtue that my genes don't carry.
