Review on 🔐 Kwikset Ashfield Single Cylinder Handleset with Ashfield Lever, SmartKey - Venetian Bronze Finish: Model 98001-098 by Jason Rosekrans

I am completely satisfied with this set. I used to have the same unit in another house and never had a problem. I'm not a lock and knob snob so I don't have any luggage. I have always been happy with Kwikset and plan to continue purchasing Kwikset to replace the door blocks in my home. I like handle sets because I have big hands and inevitably knock/scratch the door frame with my knuckles or twist my wrist awkwardly when opening. Another benefit of pens is that they can be used by hand. I'm tall enough to lift my foot and tap my foot on the lever, pulling or pushing as needed. You can also push by putting your elbow on the lever. Fit, workmanship and quality are ok - no complaints, it's worth it. Installation was easy with pretty basic instructions. If your door and frame are not pre-drilled for the handle and latch, you will need tools to make the holes and slots for the panels. I used the Irwin Industrial Tools 3111002 Bi-Metal Door Lock Mounting Kit on a steel door. I would have preferred a better feel for the latch's weight and an easier way to find the bottom screw mount (I left it out and just tightened the remaining screws), more security.
