I have an old table lamp that I use on my bedside table. The lamp was equipped with a CFL (compact fluorescent lamp). Over the years, the CFL has faded and eventually stopped functioning altogether. I found this LED replacement and am very happy with it. I chose the 6000 Kelvin model because my old eyes appreciate bright white light. The description of this LED will alert you to remove or re-wrap the ballast. In my case it was pretty easy. Five screws and I had access to the ballast and wiring. I decided to wrap the ballast in my mount as the weight of the ballast increases the stability of the mount itself. I'm a handyman so the wiring around the ballast wasn't too difficult, but if you're not comfortable making these changes to an electrical appliance I recommend you get help from a professional mechanic.
