Great LED replacement for old CFLs

I have an old table lamp that I use on my bedside table. The lamp was equipped with a CFL (compact fluorescent lamp). Over the years, the CFL has faded and eventually stopped functioning altogether. I found this LED replacement and am very happy with it. I chose the 6000 Kelvin model because my old eyes appreciate bright white light. The description of this LED will alert you to remove or re-wrap the ballast. In my case it was pretty easy. Five screws and I had access to the ballast and wiring.

It was common back then to use old $10 lightbulbs, so it seemed extravagant. (Though it was a lot better to work with.) I haven't used it as much in the past few years, mostly because our cars didn't need repairs as often as they did 20 years ago, but it is there was always good light. I had to shave off the socket where the bulbous corner lugs snap onto the LED. I used a dremil for this. The other bulb installed with no problems, but the bulb stabilizer would not accommodate the increased thickness of the new bulb. I used the dremil again to open up the gap a bit. I realize it seems like a lot of work to get this lamp to…
