Review on Charger Bosch Art. 018999903M by Micha Micha ᠌

Not at all what I expected.Terrible!

So, an HONEST review in hot pursuit. We have - a battery that has gone to zero, an electrician in a car does not give traces of life, when you try to start it from a booster, it stalls as soon as the booster stops giving current. We remove, we drag home, we connect the memory. The "Mode" button (the only button) is lit in blue (standby mode), does not respond to pressing. We read the instructions - we see that at a voltage of less than 6V, the memory will not wake up. Magically. Fortunately, since the days of fascination with electronics, there is a multimeter. We measure the voltage at the terminals - 5V. Ok, the instructions don't lie. We climb on the Internet, find out a life hack - connect another 12V power source in parallel to the memory, then it will come to life. We take the same booster, hook it to the terminals, give a discharge - hurray, the memory started up. True, the booster, apparently, drove a little current and raised the voltage to 6V, so as soon as the booster was turned off, the charger decided that I had a) a 6V battery and b) it was already fully charged. As a result, the charger went into charge maintenance mode, but higher - no, no. For two hours in this mode, the voltage is expected to remain 6V + - 0.5. Even more magical. Again, fortunately, I dug up a living laboratory power supply. I put it on a voltage of 14V for half an hour, which slightly revived the battery to 10V. Here, the memory finally understood what it was dealing with and began, in fact, to charge. Conclusion: if you are looking for a universal and compact charger for all occasions and, in particular, for battery resuscitation, this is not it. When I bought it, I just wanted to get away from the fuss with volts-amps-modes, but, you see, it’s not fate. In my case, I had the necessary tools and knowledge at hand, but it seems to me that it is more convenient to turn the twists on the memory, where they are.

Pros
  • Compact, waterproof, large comfortable crocodiles
Cons
  • - Does not charge a discharged battery (see instructions - "when the supply voltage is less than 6V, it goes into standby mode") - Too smart - you have to dance with a tambourine to make it work - As a result - the memory is intended for a "under-discharged" battery - the lights are on, but there is not enough power. It is not clear why it is needed then - boosters do an excellent job with such a situation.
